Physician Verbal Orders
AbbaDox facilitates the authentication of physician verbal orders as mandated by CMS by applying an electronic signature process to scanned orders. The verbal orders, as written by a nurse, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, are scanned into a special queue within AbbaDox where physicians can apply their electronic authentication of the orders within the 48-hour timeframe. AbbaDox superimposes an electronic signature tagline on the document containing the date, time and prescribing doctor’s name.
The document’s audit log also notates the transaction details and the signed form is archived into the corresponding online patient charts. Physician verbal orders can also be printed, faxed or e-mailed from AbbaDox.
