Transcription Workflow

The following graphic represents a typical transcription workflow. However, IDS customizes each process to match your organization’s unique processes and workflows.

(Move your mouse over each section of the diagram below for an explanation)

Stage 1. IDS receives the ADT information via an interface with the organization’s scheduling system. Stage 3. IDS transcriptionists securely log into our servers and transcribe the reports. Stage 4. The reports are reviewed by our editors for accuracy and blanks. Stage 5. Our quality assurance (QA) team provides a final review of the reports before passing the documents on for signature. Meanwhile, transcription managers review the entire process to ensure that turnaround time requirements are met. Stage 2. Doctors dictate cases using their preferred dictation methodology: telephone, digital handheld device or Philips SpeechMike. Stage 7. Upon signature the reports are auto-distributed to referring physicians and, if desired, sent to any third-party management system via an electronic interface. Stage 6. Reports appear in AbbaDox, our online Workflow Portal. The reports can be reviewed, edited, and electronically signed. Reports are archived in our online patient charts.
