How it works

Providers can electronically prescribe medication directly from the AbbaDox patient charts using our integrated ePrescription module. The entire process appears under a single ePrescriptions tab right in the electronic patient file.

ePrescription can be activated on a provider basis, allowing facilities to establish a roll out plan to fit their own timetable.

National pharmacy database
Access a real-time national database of physical and mail order pharmacies to easily choose, communicate directly with and remember up to five pharmacies per patient.

Common prescriptions
Prescribe common medications with a provider-specific favorites list including the SIG and strength previously determined appropriate for an existing patient.

Safety checks
Automated prompts offer information on the drug being prescribed, potential inappropriate dose or route of administration of the drug, drug-drug interactions, allergy concerns, and warnings/cautions.

Formulary checking
Provide information on formulary or tiered formulary medications, patient eligibility and authorization requirements received electronically from the patient’s drug plan, lower cost alternatives and print a medication list.

Renewal and signature notifications
Notify providers of any renewal requests or prescriptions pending e-signatures. When selected, a window will display all pending requests and allow providers to review and sign individually or as a group.

Mimic your existing process
Replicate your existing prescription writing process electronically to delegate and authorize among doctors and staff or other qualified provider agents. Staff members can prepare prescriptions on the doctor’s behalf for their electronic signature.

Medication history
The ePrescription module interacts with RxHub, a national database that can retrieve a two-year snapshot of the patient’s drug history.

Mobile application
A mobile ePrescription application for the iPhone is available and can be invoked directly from Mobile AbbaDox.
